Samantha and Damian vowed to love each other for a lifetime in a Huon Valley, outdoor wedding ceremony at Home Hill Winery, Tasmania. Nestled in the beautiful winery, surrounded by vineyards, hills and vast open heavens, this wedding really was wonder-full.
A soak-in-the-moment type of wedding, where you can’t help but feel captivated. Guests witnessed an intimate commitment between two people as the majestic mountain ranges enveloped everyone in a symphony of love.
The Bride, Samantha curated a bridal look that transcended time. Her wedding dress featured a deep plunging, V neckline and low-cut back with luxurious flower lace. The floor length, mermaid style silhouette was the epitome of refined beauty in all its understated glory.
Styled with a floor length veil which was set into a soft, low bun, her timeless look was complemented beautifully with natural-look make up and elegant drop pearl earrings.
The Bride and Bridesmaids carried eye-catching bouquets filled with Australian natives, nestled together with rich hues of green and bursts of red botanicals.
Samantha’s bridesmaids wore beautiful mid-length dresses perfect for a springtime wedding. The bridesmaid dresses were a romantic, jewel-coloured hue of wine and looked beautiful with their bouquets.
The Groom Damian and his Groomsmen wore suits paired with white shirts finished with a bow tie for the groom and a traditional tie for the groomsmen. Their ties were the same ruby hue as the Bridesmaid’s dresses.
Before leaving for the ceremony, Damian and his Groomsmen made a special stop off at the Hobart waterfront to have photos in front of the cray- fishing Boat Leigh Ann. This boat has sentimental ties for Damian who was once a skipper aboard Leigh Ann.
With the wedding location a 30-minute drive from Hobart, Samantha and Damian arranged to have their guests transported via bus.
When the Bride and Bridesmaids arrived the wind was loud enough for the Bridesmaids to accidently miss their music cue and so the music was restarted… but to add another hiccup it began to rain…..
Everyone waited for the rain to pass, staying dry under a shelter. Once the rain cleared it was a case of third time lucky with the Bridesmaids successfully making it down the aisle.
The ever-graceful Bride, Samantha stunned in her beautiful gown. She really made a statement as she walked the aisle lined with wine barrels and loved ones. Guests’ eyes were delighted by her dreamy and romantic wedding dress in motion.
The bridal party stood before a timber arbour handcrafted by Groom Damian, made especially for the ceremony. The arbour was adorned with a lavish floral display in the same green and red tones of the bridal party’s flowers.
Jill Harper, a much-loved Tasmanian Celebrant officiated the nuptials, with the ceremony held at the foothills of the majestic winery. The sun shined its glorious rays on the lovers as Jill pronounced Samantha and Damian husband and wife.
At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony the newlyweds joyously made their way down the aisle where they were met by loved ones who showered them in colourful flower confetti.
Later on, with the ceremony and group shots sorted, it was time for me to take full advantage of golden hour (a wedding photographer’s favourite time to shoot).
Golden hour is the special time of day when the light is magically soft. It’s a short window of time where everything glows and all the details shimmy and dance through the lens of my camera. It’s where I capture really special memories, intimate moments and details.
When it was time to enjoy the reception, guests were treated to a wedding venue purpose built to showcase the beauty of the Home Hills Winery. Glass panelling offered the guests a magnificent view looking out to the picturesque vineyards.
The room was styled with round tables dressed in crisp white table cloths and vases filled with native botanicals and red flowers. The flower arrangements sat atop oversized timber tree-slices giving the wedding centerpieces a rustic touch.
The three-tiered naked wedding cake was decorated with wedding flowers of green and crimson and finished with a timber ‘Mr &Mrs’ cake topper.
Through The Lens
(What I’ll always remember about Samantha and Damian’s day)

Witnessing Samantha’s love for her family was a very real and authentic privilege. On the morning there were tears and laughter as she prepared for her walk down the aisle.
Samantha’s sweet smile and Damian’s cheeky grin made for a delightful day of capturing moments. I couldn’t help but be drawn in by their love…. they are perfect for each other.
It was obvious Samantha and Damian are a couple who value relationships with family and friends. Their guests were visibly humbled to witness a loving outdoor ceremony.
Thank you, Samantha and Damian for choosing me as your wedding photographer. It was a great joy to photograph a day that will always signify your decision to choose one another forever.
