Rita and Tim’s wedding was one of love-filled proportions at Home Hill Winery in the Huon Valley, Tasmania.
In an outdoor ceremony set amongst the open air and plentiful vineyards, the bride surpassed the beauty of the location in what was truly a day of intimate celebration bringing together the hearts of two people and two families.
The Bride
Rita wore a silk, strapless, mermaid style dress with a sweet heart neckline finished with a cathedral train. The train was a tulle masterpiece purposefully made to wow as she made her walk down the aisle. The exquisite nature of the tulle train meant it created an illusion, full-bodied skirt that was ethereal and elegant.
Rita’s hair was styled out and worn to one side, displaying her sparkling drop earrings which added a striking touch.
The Bridesmaids stunned in vibrant crimson floor length dresses with A line silhouettes and carried bouquets of eucalyptus leaves scattered with baby’s breath. The Bride’s bouquet was the same as the Bridesmaids but for a special touch had a selection of exquisite white roses as the centrepiece.
The Groom
Groom Tim and His Groomsmen wore blue suits with white shirts paired with tan shoes and fun colourful socks. Tim wore a crimson tie in a matching hue to the Bridesmaid’s dresses and The Groomsmen wore ties in a champagne tone.
The Ceremony
Set at the foothills of the vineyards, Rita was a graceful Bride as she floated down the aisle on the arm of her son. Her showstopping dress glided behind in its exquisite glory leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that her dress was made for the aisle.
Merren Wilkinson from Cinta Celebrate Love was the wonderful celebrant who truly knows how to make a ceremony feel like a celebration. Any Tasmania wedding photographer can’t help but fall in love with Merren’s warm style and know how.
Her ability to weave a ceremony with love, emotion and vulnerability was displayed beautifully throughout the proceedings and Rita and Tim continued this theme by reading personal vows which were filled with laughter and tears.
The ceremony also included a symbolic gesture that placed importance on the ring exchange, creating a meaningful moment that carried deep significance.
The moment unfolded with Rita’s daughter walking down the aisle holding the rings… One ring was then handed to a very special person….. Tim’s mother, who held the ring Rita was to place on Tim’s hand. Rita’s ring remained with Rita’s daughter who handed it to Tim to place on Rita’s hand.
After the ceremony the couple had photos in the picturesque vineyard which included photos on a love seat made by the Groom. Tim made the love seat by repurposing old pallets which added a rustic feel to the photographs and was a special moment given Tim had made it especially for the day.
For the reception, guests moved inside the Home Hill Winery Restaurant and the bridal party made a festive entrance with each Groomsmen shaking a maraca as they entered the room.
Rita’s fabulous dress continued to wow, going from ceremony to reception as she removed the statement tulle skirt revealing a figure-hugging mermaid silhouette.
Happiness was the message spelt out in timber letters across the front of the bridal table which was also styled with green foliage and candles.
The reception menu was a feast of share platters of roasted pork belly and steamed mussel pots and mains were wagyu beef and dry aged duck followed by dessert of cake, berries and Chantilly cream.
An eye pleasing and tastebud teasing 3-tiered naked cake made by Jess Creative Cakes was beautifully styled with the wedding’s signature, floral theming of gum leaves, white roses and baby’s breath.
The speeches were emotional and poignant with tears falling as Rita’s Matron of Honour, Cindy and Bridesmaid Ruth read moving messages from members of Rita’s family who live in Fiji and were unable to celebrate with Rita in person.
One final and thoughtful touch on the day were the lovely wedding favours gifted to the guests…. everyone received a jar of tomato chutney handmade by the bridesmaids.
A special mention must also go to Style My Day who helped bring Rita and Tim’s Beautiful wedding day to life.
Through The Lens
(What I’ll always remember about Rita & Tim’s day)
I came away from this romantic wedding reflecting on not only how lovely Rita and Tim are but also how sweet and loving their family is.
I loved the personal vows….it’s always a vulnerable moment during the vows but there is something about personal vows where hearts are bared for all to witness. I will never tire of observing the power in refreshing and honest, personalised vows.
Thank you, Rita and Tim for allowing me to spend the day with you to photograph the magic moments of your wedding. May your love be preserved for eternity.
