Rebecca and Brett were married at the exquisite gardens of Valleyfield situated along the Derwent River in New Norfolk, Tasmania and what a stunning wedding location it was.
This majestic spot is a hidden gem and one that every couple desiring a garden wedding will adore. With so many gorgeous backdrops there are endless opportunities to capture beautiful moments (a photographer’s dream). I highly recommend this location for any future brides and grooms.
On the day, Rebecca and Brett began their wedding preparations at Glen Derwent, a charming historic establishment in New Norfolk boasting lush gardens and a variety of free roaming animals including show stopping peacocks.
The Bride
Rebecca wore a refined and elegant white dress with her hair down. To add a touch of glamour a delicately embellished hair pin finished her graceful look. The bouquet was a work of art, arranged with the finest locally grown native flowers, featuring a stunning White Protea.
The Groom
Brett wore a sophisticated suit in a hue of blue.
Before the ceremony they chose to have a ‘first look’, seeing each other in a private and romantic moment at Glen Derwent.
After the first-look-photos, the bridal party headed just a few hundred meters down the road to ‘Valleyfield’ where the ceremony took place. The location for the ceremony can only be described as an idyllic garden.
And as every wedding needs a memorable story there was a quick dash back to Glen Derwent to pick up the bride’s forgotten bouquet.
Once the bouquet was safely back in the bride’s hands, Rebecca made her way down the long, grand garden aisle. Accompanied by her parents, the bride was given away to her future husband.
Simone Taylor was the officiating celebrant and created a captivating ceremony full of emotion that brought joyful, heartfelt tears as the couple became one in front of their excited guests.
Embracing a more relaxed atmosphere, the reception was held locally with celebrations continuing into the night. It was a fun filled affair with family and friends.
Through The Lens
(What I’ll remember about Rebecca and Brett’s day)
The camera loved Rebecca and Brett. Photographing them felt effortless and their devotion to one another came through very naturally.
The bride and groom’s first glimpse of each other is always magical. I love nothing more than witnessing the first moment a couple lock eyes on one another. Whilst usually it’s at the ceremony there is something special about a ‘first look’. It’s intimate and sometimes overwhelmingly emotional.
From a photographer’s perspective, it’s nice to have time to capture portraits of the couple before the official proceedings and excited guests call your attention. Rebecca and Brett’s love-filled wedding is one I’ll never forget. They had a moving ceremony with a beautiful atmosphere and their adoration for one another was evident throughout the day.
What a perfect day, it was like no other and as unique as their love story.
I would like to thank Rebecca and Brett for placing their trust in me to capture their wedding memories.
It was truly an honour to be part of your celebrations and I wish you both all the love and happiness in the future.
